Frequently Q & A

Are these paid positions?

Getting paid for your time and effort is always the goal. However with some of these startups or projects it's always up to the project owner if there is any compensation. In most cases you are compensated in the overall experience. You can add this to your resume.

Is there a time commitment?

You can code as much or as little as you would like on these projects. Most project owners will let you know their expectations. Our recommendation is to reach out to the Project Owner and ask that question.

Am I able to ask for help?

Your project manager will not leave you hanging. Most likely there will be huddles that you can attend to show your progress. What most people will do is bring a buddy from your class along with you so you both can work on the same project.

Do I have to be in a certain timezone?

That's the best part about working as a developer is that you can work on the project at anytime. We would ask you to check with the Project Owner on meetings of if they are recorded so they can post them to the community.

Can I work on Multiple Projects?

We recommend that you stick with just one project at a time. If you would like to work with the other project, then we would suggest that you let the project owner of the other one know that you would like to work on something else that way your tickets can be handled by somebody else.
